Learn-to-Swim Program

With an emphasis on drowning prevention and water safety, In Motion Recreation’s Learn-to-Swim program has over 25 years of Aquatic Experience. Courses are available for a variety of ages and skill levels, including those with disabilities and other health conditions.

The progressive, multi-level instructional approach of swim courses maximizes participant success and includes the most current bio-mechanics, stroke descriptions and diving progressions.

Learn to Swim Courses

Parent & Child Aquatics Levels 1 & 2

Recommended Age: 6 months–3 years

Orients young children to the water and prepares them for Preschool Aquatics or Learn-to-Swim courses
Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills

Recommended Age: 3 years and up

 
Recommended Age: 3 years and up Helps participants feel comfortable in the water
Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills

Recommended Age: 3 years and up

Gives participants success with fundamental aquatic skills

Level 3: Stroke Development

Recommended Age: 4 years and up

Builds on Level 2 skills through additional guided practice

Level 4: Stroke Improvement

Recommended Age: 6 years and up

To develop confidence in the strokes learned so far

Level 5: Stroke Refinement

Recommended Age: 6 years and up

To coordinate and refine all the swimming strokes and swim longer distances
Level 6 Options: Personal Water Safety or Fitness Swimmer or Fundamentals of Diving

Recommended Age: 6 years and up

To refine strokes so students swim them with more ease, efficiency, power and smoothness over greater distances. Level 6 options focus on preparing participants for more advanced aquatic activities
Adult Swim—Learning the Basics

Helps participants gain basic aquatic skills and swimming strokes

Adult Swim—Improving Skills and Swimming Strokes
Improve participants’ proficiency in basic aquatic skills and the six basic swimming strokes
Adult Swim—Swimming for Fitness
Refine participants’ front crawl, back crawl and breaststroke strokes and turns and build endurance

Water Aerobics Program

Classes vary, from Aqua Yoga, on mats, Aqua Bike, or Water Our program consists of low impact fitness classes that are tailored to adults of any fitness level, from Aqua Bike, to Aqua Yoga Mats and Water Aerobics. Participation in this class will help maintain and increase aerobic capacity. Muscle mass and flexibility. The class includes low impact aerobics, followed by strength training and stretching. Modifications are provided so that participants can engage in the workout at their own pace and level.

By adjusting the size and speed of participant’s movements, the level of exertion can be changed to suit the participant’s needs.

Water Aerobics with resistance bells

Recommended Age: 13 Years and up

With an increase of resistance underwater, the weights provide an intense workout from both ends of a pool, whether you’re in shallow or deep water
Aqua Yoga
Recommended Age: 13 Years and up
 
This low impact aquatic exercise takes the principles and movements of Yoga and adapts them to the water environment. With the release of gravity the body is able to find the optimum stretch.
Aqua Bike

Recommended Age: 13 Years and up

Combine the benefits of cycling with the benefits of a low impact work out. Aqua Bike Water Aerobics is performed in a series of work out stations designed to get the blood pumping.

Fit Kids Recreation

The Fit Kids recreation program is tailored for parents who want to get their kids to enjoy an active lifestyle. Our Instructors main goal is to entertain kids through the means of an active lifestyle with the goal of getting the kids to enjoy one of the many activities thus enabling them to make permanent lifelong changes that may lead to a healthier lifestyle.

Fit Kids Courses

Fit-Soccer

Recommended Age: 4 Years-14

Classes develop fundamental soccer skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting and trapping. In addition, general fitness and motor skills
such as running, balancing and jumping are also emphasized. For older classes, game situations and small sided scrimmages are introduced so that children become comfortable playing in recreational and competitive leagues

Fit-Volleyball

Recommended Age: 4 Years-14

Kids learn how to play the ultimate beach sport in a fun and engaging way. Learn how to bump, set, serve and hit in a fun exercise oriented atmosphere
Fit-Kids Yoga

Recommended Age: 4 Years-14

Kids get their wellness by learning flexibility and strength training routines through age appropriate Yoga routines using animal imitations, music, storytelling and games.
Summer/Winter FitKids Camp

Recommended Age: 4 Years-14

 
Recommended Age: 4 Years-14 A weekly summer/ Winter program designed to get kids moving. The program uses a combination of the Fit-Kids program to get kids moving and entertained.
Jr. Lifeguard
The Jr. Lifeguard Program is designed to guide adolescents ages 11-14 to the Red Cross Lifeguarding course by offering them a foundation of knowledge , attitudes and skills for future lifeguards.

Wellness Program

Wellness Courses

Yoga

Recommended Age: 13 Years and up

A journey into the fundamentals of yoga. This class is for all fitness levels, it combines breathing techniques with balance and postural exercises. Wonderful for beginners, or for those looking for a basic, yet challenging mind and body.

Meditation

Recommended Age: 13 Years and up

Classes include two guided meditations and a practical teaching for developing greater happiness and inner peace in daily life.

Adult Fit Camp Classes

Recommended Age: 16 Years and up

These athletic based Interval training classes focus on the exercisers not the exercise. Adult Fit Camp is a high intensity work out class  that uses traditional movements to achieve the best work out.

Training Program

In Motion Recreation also has a team of dedicated instructors that can train your staff in an array of courses that are essential to the hospitality industry, from the OSHA required CPR courses, to Health Department mandate, Aquatic Facility Operator Course for hotels with pools. We also have certified Lifeguard Instructors and Water Safety Instructors on staff that can provide employees with the necessary tools to respond and prepare for emergencies, classes are taught by certified American Red Cross Instructors.

Training Courses

Adult First Aid/CPR/AED Training

Recommended Age: 13 Years and up

The Adult The Adult First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a
variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies for victims about 12 years and older. Successful students will receive a certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years..

Lifeguard Instructor Course

Recommended Age: 18 Years and up

Provides entry-level participants the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies and to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses until EMS personnel take over. Prerequisites: Minimum age: 15 years; Swim 300 yards continuously; Tread water for 2 minutes using only the legs; Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds by starting in the water, swimming 20 yards, surface dive to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point, exit the water without using steps or a ladder. Also includes Administering Emergency Oxygen. Participants who successfully complete the Lifeguarding course receive an American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED and Administering Emergency Oxygen, both valid for 2 years.

Water Safety Instructor

This course trains Water Safety Instructor candidates to teach courses and presentations in the American Red Cross Swimming and Water Safety program by developing their understanding of how to use the course materials, how to conduct training sessions and how to evaluate participants’ progress. The courses and presentations include Parent and Child Aquatics Levels 1 and 2, Preschool Aquatics Levels 1 – 3, Learn-to- Swim Levels 1 – 6, three adult courses as well as the Basic Water Rescue and Personal Water Safety courses and more. To enroll, instructor candidates must be at least 16 years of age on or before the last day of the instructor course and successfully complete the pre-course session which includes demonstration of swimming skill at Learn-to-Swim Level 4.

Aquatic Facility Operator

The premier certification program in swimming pool operations, the Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) certification. The AFO program provides the most comprehensive and up-to date training for pool operators and includes information on water chemistry, disinfection, mechanical systems, operations, healthy pools and safety.

Aquatic Safety Consultant

Evaluate facilities and operational safeguards to minimize risk for aquatics industries, included but not limited to equipment manufacturers, recreation, hospitality and entertainment.
